CAIC and Somercor are co-hosting a breakfast event, Quantum Supply Chain for Manufacturers.
Following the recent award of approximately $30 million from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) to The Bloch Quantum Tech Hub—unlocking roughly $55 million in total regional commitments—this initiative seeks to build a domestic quantum manufacturing supply chain across Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.
Building a quantum ecosystem requires far more than quantum scientists. Quantum companies rely heavily on traditional manufacturing capabilities to produce precision components, specialized electronics, vacuum systems, fabricated metal products, and advanced materials.
The EDA funding is to ensure established regional manufacturers—regardless of whether they currently operate in the quantum sector—can gain the technical capabilities, certifications, and procurement relationships needed to enter this high-growth market.
